Use this tool when you have multiple problems and limited time. Rate each problem by Impact (how much it costs or hurts) and Ease of Fix (how hard it is to solve). Then plot them in the matrix below to decide where to focus first.

 

Step 1 — List Your Problems

Step 2 — Plot Them in the Matrix

Write each problem number in the correct quadrant based on your ratings above.

EASY TO FIX (4–5)
HIGH IMPACT (4–5)

Plan well, allocate resources,

Questions to Ask When Prioritizing:

  1. What's the impact? (cost, safety risk, customer effect, time lost)
  2. Is it getting worse over time?
  3. Can we actually fix it with our available resources?
  4. Will the solution stay fixed permanently?
